The Mexican Journal of Oncology (Gaceta Mexicana de Oncología) is the official publication of the Mexican Society of Oncology (Sociedad Mexicana de Oncología, SMeO). It is a high quality scientific blind peer-reviewed journal that communicates to health professionals the most relevant and up-to-date advances in research and education, in order to offer cutting-edge multidisciplinary care to cancer patients.
Gac Mex Oncol. is an electronic and open access journal, published quarterly; plus, a supplement with clinical cases per year.
This is the journal of choice for oncologists in the field of research and education in surgical, medical, pediatric, gynecological, hematological and radiological oncology, as well as specialties for the detection, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and rehabilitation, fields in which different specialties involved in the management of cancer patients participate.
Gac Mex Oncol. accepts unsolicited manuscripts from authors of any country in the world both in English and Spanish languages. It publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical cases, which are included in the yearly supplement of clinical cases. Spanish is still one of the most spoken languages in the world. For that reason, Gac Mex Oncol. is publishing all its contents in Spanish, but at the same time, every original article is translated into English and available online in open access.
Gac Mex Oncol. strongly supports open access initiatives: the journal do not charge anything to the authors (nor before nor after publication) and all articles are free to the reader from the very first moment of the publication. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This allows anyone to copy and distribute the work for non-commercial purposes as long as the original work and the source are properly cited.
